I’ve owned the Bear II since 2016, and have used it only a handful of a times. And each time it has exceeded my expectations. I can only imagine the next generation would further exceed them.
I am currently preparing for my first Hood to Coast Relay (200 miles from Oregon’s high-point to sea level) for my first time and my ultramarathon running and crewing experience might just be my secret weapon this weekend.
I’ve prepared a Runner Stuff Kit for my wife and I in the Bear II, and with enough extras to support our van, too. It’s a comprehensive list to get our team across the finish line; covering 15+ miles each in a 36 hour period with long rests in between - a crew captains dream.
The gear and supplies that I’ve organized in the Bear II should exceed my wife and my needs - plus enough to meet the needs of up-to 3 teammates.
I’ve used this pack for a 100k and a 50 miler aid station drop bag, and it’s been exceptional. Too spacious, honestly. I could plan for EVERY need when packing my drop bag, but I only used 20-30% of it during those races, I’d say.
My wife and I discussed this becoming a first aid kit, but we’ll probably keep this as a runner kit and buy another to serve as our at-home first aid kit.
As a bit of a validator, I went to grad school for sports product management and learned so much about responsible product creation. This is one of them. You won’t need to buy another forever.
This bag looks brand new. Sure it doesn’t have a ton of mileage on it, but a few races and long runs, 7 years of getting squashed and tucked away, Don’t worry about DURABILITY.
It’s VERSATILE. When you stop running ultras like me, you can easily find another use for it: first aid, tool kit, couples lunch pale/picnic basket, car emergency kit, etc.).
And the QUALITY is so high: clean fabric cuts, quality zips, strong stitches, tough materials… strong stitches on touch materials! Phenomenal workmanship.
And it’s just so EASY. It’s simple and consistent in design, intuitive in purpose, and impeccably executed in details.
I only wish I could attach photos to this review, because so many scenarios are accounted for in this kit bag!
I’m certain our relay team will persevere this weekend! (maybe in part because we had all of the contingency plans! - Thanks Victory)
Thank you so much for your kind, thoughtful and much appreciated words. It means a lot to learn of the adventures and multi-uses that folks have gotten from their Victory Bags over the last 13 years. We've always been a small Mom/Pop business, even though many think we're a huge company. Without the support of awesome folks like you, we'd be nothing.
We wish you, your wife, team and crew all the best on your upcoming Hood to Coast Relay! Send pictures if you ever get a chance.

Thanks Victory Sportdesign for yet another great product!! The Bear III Bag is compact and well designed for easy access, ready identification of contents and is highly functional. The full zip transition lid makes getting to my gear with cold, gloved and tired hands a breeze!! I also have the Coyote, which I love too, so now have the two best bags in the biz locked, loaded and ready to go! Thank you Victory!!!
Apologies for the extended delay in thanking you for your kind and thoughtful words, regarding your Victory Bag. I've been the main caregiver for my mom this last year and my focus has been somewhat split. We wish you many great adventures with your bag! We're always here for you.
I LOVE the Bear III bag. I used it last summer to organize my fuel and supplies for my crew when I ran my 50 miler- there's so many pockets so it was easy to keep all of my goodies organized. I also used it to help crew a friend running 100 miles and just bought a second bag to organize all of my running fuel at home. Would definitely buy again!

I used this bag for the first time during a 100K looped course. I did not have a drop bag, but used this at the spot where my crew was the whole race. It was the perfect bag to keep all of my gear organized. I knew exactly where everything was located, saving me time (and mental energy!) when seeing my crew. I love all of the pockets and adjustability of compartments (removing certain pouches etc.). The bag is durable and will be a great drop bag for future races!
This is a great drop bag with tons of options in a small package. I like it so much I ordered a couple more so I could use the same bag for multiple aid stations. They are well made and have great features. I highly recommend.
I had never heard of this company before, but I won one of these at a race. It is an amazing product! It is so well thought out from the users’ perspective. It is a nice size for a limited amount of snacks and hydration, maybe just a couple hours worth, depending on your caloric intake needs/activity. If you like to be organized you will love this! I’m so excited to have found this company and buy something from the standard gear companies.
Hey Adventure Runner,
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words! Most importantly, CONGRATS on your Victory Bag award! We wish you many great adventures with it!!!
The compact Cougar II is just what I was looking for in a drop bag. Enough room inside for large items like jackets, flashlights and a fluid bottle and outside pockets to store gels and bars. The outside is firm enough to maintain its box shape and the protected see thru cover allows an insert for a bib # , name and AS location. Distinctive shape and red color makes it easy to spot. I highly recommend this superb drop bag.
Victory Sports Design. how should I put it? it simply ART!
super well thought out design and features that shows dedication to the smallest details.
The pockets, the zippers, the clear windows, and with great organization and durability - everything just clicks.
The materials are top notch and even though I've got the small Cougar II - there is plenty of room for all essentials.
Victor (the owner) takes every order seriously and it shows, answering every question with patient kindness and confidence. Even added a personal note in the package that make it feel like your a part of the family. I can't put the words to show my appreciation. Thank you!
From ordering to the final product, I could have not been happier. Gave as a birthday gift to my Ultra running wife....she LOVED it!!!
<p>Awesome! Thank you so incredibly much for the support and kind words! We share our best Birthday wishes!</p>
This is by far the best and most organized pack around, and I did look around. The adjustable shelf unit inside is so helpful for making the perfect fit for what you're putting in. The padded laptop pocket is key, the outer pockets are easy to get in while wearing the pack. It's extremely comfortable, even if it's packed to the gills. And if you have to run with it, it doesn't bounce. It's a great design.
I love this bag! I recently used it to travel to a race and it fit everything and I was able to organize everything with all of the different pockets and compartments. It’s sturdy but not heavy.
Apologies for the extended delay in thanking you for your kind words, regarding your Victory Bag. We wish you many great adventures with it!
Great modular bag. Appreciate the unique design and quality of Victory Sport.
I already have the Bear III and have loved using it on our runcation to keep all of our running gear in 1 place. Now I’m traveling to the NYC marathon and needing another bag to carry everything for a week. I was so surprised when just one section of the Kodiak bag will hold both pairs of my running shoes!! I have so much room and pockets to organize everything!! Cannot wait to use this for NYC. And then it will be super helpful to pack everything for my husband and I when we run the Dopey Challenge in WDW in January.
Thanks so much for the wonderful bag!
The Kodak bag is awesome!
It hold all the crap I need for my races plus extras. Well thought out design.
Thanks for the great customer service!
Kodiak is my dream bag, I can organize my things easily, I know where to look, no more going though the hole bag several times to find the right things. It’s really convenient that it meets the airline carry-on size regulations.
Everything with the ordering and postal service vent very well.
This personalized running gear/drop bag is a one of a kind to keep you organized. A place for everything and everything in its place. Get in and out of your aid stations with ease and confidence that you have it all for the next long haul Ultra segment.
Held everything in an smart organized way that I needed for the day and night of an ultra run.
The Bear III is everything I wanted and more. Love this bag!
Custom name print for removable Victory Bag pocket/patch
Have had several different kinds of drop bags, but this bag is the absolute best I have used. The compartments are perfect to organize everything I need at a drop station. Absolutely love it! And it has my name stitched on it!
I loved this bag! It helped me get organized on race day and cut down my time searching for things significantly. Excellent quality product with a sweet personalization and encouraging note. These things meant everything to me on that day!
When I first got the Bear II I thought it would be a little small for a drop bag at an aid station with multiple passes. But as I packed everything in it, the bag turned out to be the perfect fit. The multiple pockets kept everything organized and the labels on the pockets helped out a ton as my mind became foggy in the late miles. Such a high quality bag will last for years.
