I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I bought it because I recently crewed someone during a self supported100 mile road race. It seemed very well built and made my job crewing much easier because his stuff was all in labeled pockets and nicely separated. After arriving home I ordered 2. One for myself, and one for my wife. Looking forward to trying them out!
Purchased 3 different crew bags from other companies and this was the big winner. The versatility of the dividers and the multiple see through and magnetized pockets keep my crew person organized and efficient when I checked in each 20 mi loop of the 100. Easy to carry and move backpack straps out of the way to access contents. This one cost me more but is worth every single dollar.
Have had a few velcro bits pull off in the visible panel on the lid ( where you might put supplements etc). I was also a bit disappointed with the quality of webbing used on the shoulder straps and carry loop. I am overall happy with the bag but will not buy again with the current webbing used.
<br><br>Thank you for your detailed feedback. While glowing reviews always make us smile, critical ones are the most valuable. If I were to say every detail on the bags, I've designed and put together, were spot on perfect I'd be stretching myself a bit.
I agree with you about the webbing. It's a note I've had regarding future adjustments. As always it's an evolving process and comments like yours help guide these designs to the next level. </p>
<p></p><p>On the note regarding the Velcro, I'll email you for specifics. I've never seen that happen before. I know you recently received your bag. If it's a warranty issue, I'd like to take care of it.
Purchased this bag to use for Nordic ski trips. I wanted a bag that opened in a way so I could easily see all of my gear. Bag holds two pairs of xc boots, plus all of the gloves, hats, scarves, extra sets of clothing, waist pack, everything I need except for my skis and poles.(For food and drink I use a Bear III as a mini cooler) At home I store everything in the bag to keep the gear corralled and tidy. It’s nice to know that heading out of the house at o’dark early all I have to do is grab the bag and not worry that I am missing gloves or an extra hat... Lots of pockets for stashing stuff and love the fact that some are clear and some have a place for content tags -saves having to dig through every pocket looking for that spare hat. Very well thought out design. For non-sport travel I plan on using this rather than my carry-on suitcase, so much nicer.
I ordered this bag to support me for my planned 200 mile effort at Bigfoot in 2021. I was supposed to run it in 2020, but we all know what happened to 2020. The good news is, I’ll have much better bags in 2021 than I planned to have for 2020! These bags are fantastic, super well-made, and clearly designed by a knowledgeable ultra runner! I’d give six stars if I could!
Second victory product for us (for ultrarunner husband actually), graduated to the bear for use during his 100s while we'll keep the smaller bag for post-race recovery needs. Really love all the clear pouches in the bear and how it opens up completely. He's excited to use it in the fall! Customer service was great as well - worked directly with victor to figure out a way to fit my text on the custom tag when i forgot to add it in the order, and everything made it to me in just a few days. Two thumbs up!
Received my order quickly, even during the Christmas holiday mailing period. Love both bag colors, red and blue. Haven't used bags yet, bur I think they are well designed so that stuff can be kept in them in a very orderly fashion. Seem to be made with quality materials and craftsmanship. Can't wait to use them during ultra's next year.
Thank you Victory Sports Designs for great service
Thanks Jack! Don't forget you can also use them when not racing. I'm also pretty sure Maggie dog would love to have her own go-bag. :-)
So this bag is amazing with one single design flaw. The insulated water bottle pouches don’t fit a single water bottle I own from Nalgene bottles to camelback bottles nothing fits in them. Why include them if they don’t fit anything. The organization is AMAZING and I may even buy the bigger bag for future races for crewing duties. I can’t recommend this bag enough but man do I not understand the point of the bottle holders.
<br>Thanks for your great feedback. I'm not sure if you received my email reply regarding your question about the water bottle holders. They fit many different styles of 16oz bottles. The reason for restricting them to that size is limited to the need for keeping the bag's dimensions in line with what most 100 mile races require. I'll send you a few 16oz bottles to use in the holders! All is not lost. Believe me, they do exist. Cheers!</p>
Bear was just what I’ve needed for self-supported virtual and crewed in-person ultras! Size and organization have been perfect for preparing for different needs and layouts (hotter and dry/rainy, colder and rainy) for both gear and fuel. Pretty indestructible, too (phew!). Sooooo glad I finally brought a Bear home :)
A friend of mine is a jogger/runner, and he showed me this amazing bag which he uses to organize his marathons with water, salt tablets, energy bars etc. I'm not a very sporty person - if I jogged a quarter of a mile I would probably have a heart attack. However, in the bag there are many convenient compartments and sleeves and pockets to organize just about anything. So I bought one for my art supplies. There is a sleeve for my paint brushes, a large space for my batik and wood dyes, a zip compartment for my oil and acrylic paints and the list goes on.... Parents could even use it to organize baby supplies or computer freaks can organize their hardware and cables. The bag is truly a "Victory" for me.
Every Victory bag is an Everything bag. I was excited to add the Coyote to my collection of Do Anything bags. I was looking for a bag that would hold a pair of shoes and enough gear for a race and this is it! Thanks again for the attention to the details that set your bag apart from the competition. I will be taking this everywhere.
Was gifted one of the products for my birthday. Use this all the time at ultras. The quality is fantastic. Got two bags for friends for their birthday. Thanks Victor and team for awesome products and service.
perfect size for a pair of shoes, change of clothes and those important supplies (lube, chafe cream, etc.)
Victory Sports Design. how should I put it? it simply ART!
super well thought out design and features that shows dedication to the smallest details.
The pockets, the zippers, the clear windows, and with great organization and durability - everything just clicks.
The materials are top notch and even though I've got the small Cougar II - there is plenty of room for all essentials.
Victor (the owner) takes every order seriously and it shows, answering every question with patient kindness and confidence. Even added a personal note in the package that make it feel like your a part of the family. I can't put the words to show my appreciation. Thank you!
From ordering to the final product, I could have not been happier. Gave as a birthday gift to my Ultra running wife....she LOVED it!!!
<p>Awesome! Thank you so incredibly much for the support and kind words! We share our best Birthday wishes!</p>
This is by far the best and most organized pack around, and I did look around. The adjustable shelf unit inside is so helpful for making the perfect fit for what you're putting in. The padded laptop pocket is key, the outer pockets are easy to get in while wearing the pack. It's extremely comfortable, even if it's packed to the gills. And if you have to run with it, it doesn't bounce. It's a great design.
I loved this bag! It helped me get organized on race day and cut down my time searching for things significantly. Excellent quality product with a sweet personalization and encouraging note. These things meant everything to me on that day!
When I first got the Bear II I thought it would be a little small for a drop bag at an aid station with multiple passes. But as I packed everything in it, the bag turned out to be the perfect fit. The multiple pockets kept everything organized and the labels on the pockets helped out a ton as my mind became foggy in the late miles. Such a high quality bag will last for years.
I used this drop bag at miles 48 and 62 in my first hundred mile race. It was big enough to fit my cold weather gear and lots of little things that I might need. It also came fast, despite getting a customized patch.
I just ran my first 100 miler with crew this weekend and the amount of these bags was off the charts. My crew said that the custom patch was commented on literally at every aid station by several people that also had bear 3 bags. Awesome addition to an awesome tool for success
Thank you for my Ultra Crazy Runner custom logo on my bag. It’s perfect!
