I’ve owned the Bear II since 2016, and have used it only a handful of a times. And each time it has exceeded my expectations. I can only imagine the next generation would further exceed them.
I am currently preparing for my first Hood to Coast Relay (200 miles from Oregon’s high-point to sea level) for my first time and my ultramarathon running and crewing experience might just be my secret weapon this weekend.
I’ve prepared a Runner Stuff Kit for my wife and I in the Bear II, and with enough extras to support our van, too. It’s a comprehensive list to get our team across the finish line; covering 15+ miles each in a 36 hour period with long rests in between - a crew captains dream.
The gear and supplies that I’ve organized in the Bear II should exceed my wife and my needs - plus enough to meet the needs of up-to 3 teammates.
I’ve used this pack for a 100k and a 50 miler aid station drop bag, and it’s been exceptional. Too spacious, honestly. I could plan for EVERY need when packing my drop bag, but I only used 20-30% of it during those races, I’d say.
My wife and I discussed this becoming a first aid kit, but we’ll probably keep this as a runner kit and buy another to serve as our at-home first aid kit.
As a bit of a validator, I went to grad school for sports product management and learned so much about responsible product creation. This is one of them. You won’t need to buy another forever.
This bag looks brand new. Sure it doesn’t have a ton of mileage on it, but a few races and long runs, 7 years of getting squashed and tucked away, Don’t worry about DURABILITY.
It’s VERSATILE. When you stop running ultras like me, you can easily find another use for it: first aid, tool kit, couples lunch pale/picnic basket, car emergency kit, etc.).
And the QUALITY is so high: clean fabric cuts, quality zips, strong stitches, tough materials… strong stitches on touch materials! Phenomenal workmanship.
And it’s just so EASY. It’s simple and consistent in design, intuitive in purpose, and impeccably executed in details.
I only wish I could attach photos to this review, because so many scenarios are accounted for in this kit bag!
I’m certain our relay team will persevere this weekend! (maybe in part because we had all of the contingency plans! - Thanks Victory)

Stephen,

Thank you so much for your kind, thoughtful and much appreciated words. It means a lot to learn of the adventures and multi-uses that folks have gotten from their Victory Bags over the last 13 years. We've always been a small Mom/Pop business, even though many think we're a huge company. Without the support of awesome folks like you, we'd be nothing.

We wish you, your wife, team and crew all the best on your upcoming Hood to Coast Relay! Send pictures if you ever get a chance.

Cheers, Victor v@victorysportdesign.com

Awesome Gear Bag!

Thanks Victory Sportdesign for yet another great product!! The Bear III Bag is compact and well designed for easy access, ready identification of contents and is highly functional. The full zip transition lid makes getting to my gear with cold, gloved and tired hands a breeze!! I also have the Coyote, which I love too, so now have the two best bags in the biz locked, loaded and ready to go! Thank you Victory!!!

Steve!!!

Apologies for the extended delay in thanking you for your kind and thoughtful words, regarding your Victory Bag. I've been the main caregiver for my mom this last year and my focus has been somewhat split. We wish you many great adventures with your bag! We're always here for you.

Cheers,
Victor

Amazing crew bag!

I LOVE the Bear III bag. I used it last summer to organize my fuel and supplies for my crew when I ran my 50 miler- there's so many pockets so it was easy to keep all of my goodies organized. I also used it to help crew a friend running 100 miles and just bought a second bag to organize all of my running fuel at home. Would definitely buy again!

Great gear bag!

I used this bag for the first time during a 100K looped course. I did not have a drop bag, but used this at the spot where my crew was the whole race. It was the perfect bag to keep all of my gear organized. I knew exactly where everything was located, saving me time (and mental energy!) when seeing my crew. I love all of the pockets and adjustability of compartments (removing certain pouches etc.). The bag is durable and will be a great drop bag for future races!

Love this bag

This is a great drop bag with tons of options in a small package. I like it so much I ordered a couple more so I could use the same bag for multiple aid stations. They are well made and have great features. I highly recommend.
